Gozo
Xlendi
The delightful sea inlet, known as Xlendi Bay, lies at the end of a deep, lush ravine which was once a river bed. Until the mid 20th century, Xlendi was a small fishing port and a restful summer resort for a few locals and Maltese. Nowadays the bay still retains a peaceful atmosphere and is surprisingly undeveloped though there is still a good choice of accommodation from apartments to hotels. The single beach , rocky shore and clear waters are good for swimming and the caves and rugged reefs provide ideal conditions for snorkeling and scuba diving. Quieter then Marsalforn, it is a location for divers who want to relax as well as dive.
Xewkija
Xewikija, is famous for having one of the biggest church rotunda’s in the world and at the last count was the fourth biggest in the world. It is a convenient location for divers to base themselves as it is central and within easy access of most of Gozo’s dives. Ideal for divers taking non guided services and hiring a car or jeep. It is also situated next to Victoria, Gozo’s capital and gives the non diving party members a lot more things to do go and see.
Marsalforn
Marsalforn is a pretty fishing village on the north coast, which has over the years developed into Gozo’s most popular sea resort. Although small in size it is well serviced by restaurants, shops and diving centres and everything is within walking distance. During the long season it is a popular place for divers and tourists alike. It has excellent facilities and also a nice sandy beach. Easy access to most dives from the shore and by boat.
